Unmanned Valley gets 5G field lab

The Metropolitan Region of Rotterdam Den Haag (MRDH) is going to invest in 5G field labs together with Delft University of Technology, TNO (the Netherlands Organisation for applied scientific research) and the Province of Zuid-Holland. Unmanned Valley is one of the locations where the region will be testing and developing with 5G.

The 5G field lab is an open platform where researchers, large and small companies, start-ups and students can develop and use new sensor-based applications using 5G.

The rollout of 5G will begin in 2020, when the first frequencies are auctioned. Creating the right conditions requires an active role from governments. One of the issues is the effect on health, which may also be the subject of research.
